Nick and I are dying to get a dog. We have been wanting one forever but we have a mini-checklist that needs to get taken of first. And by "mini-checklist" I mean we need solid salaries, a backyard, and a car. No biggie.
Anyway, the goal is to get one in one year. We won't take any action until we are 100% sure we can truly provide for our future canine friend but we really think that in a year from now, after I graduate, we'll have worked out where to move to and what jobs to take. Now let's be real, who can really predict what our lives will look like in a year? In the meantime, however, I can't stop fawning over the cute dogs that roam my neighborhood, the city parks, and the television screen, all the while reminding myself that my time will come soon.
Nick loves Springer Spaniels, Leonbergers, and Golden Retrievers. I love Bulldogs, Bermese Mountain Dogs, and lately, I have been obsessed with this breed that Nick and I discovered by watching the Westminster Dog Show: the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Just look at it.
And I mean, realistically, we'll probably get a shelter dog. But until that pup comes into our lives, I'm just daydreaming about cute faces like the one above greeting me at my front door each day after work.
