For many people, today is a day of dinner dates, chocolates, flowers, or a myriad of other things that express love and romance. For me, today was my grandmother's birthday and fittingly so. She garnered the nickname "Sweetie" as it matched the permanent theme of her day of birth as well as her memorable personality. My grandmother was sassy, loving, a beautiful writer, and a very special person to me. Today, and every Valentine's Day, I cherish her memory.
