Governor Cuomo has made a budget cut proposal which would severely disable the quality of education for students who attend schools for the deaf, blind, and disabled in New York. Cuomo wants these schools to be run by the district rather than by the state which would hurt funding, decrease the quality of teachers hired, and disable the multidisciplinary teams that work in these schools in order to ensure that these students receive the attention and opportunities they deserve. These are the kinds of schools I plan to build my career in and I believe in their value and potential with all my heart.
