versatile blogger award.

Last week, I got a sweet little surprise when my friend Erin over at Pleasantries & Pit Bulls nominated me for the Versatile Blogger award! She was a great candidate for the award because she covers everything from wedding photos to delicious recipes to puppy pictures to deep thoughts on Christmas and more. You should check her out. Thanks for the nomination, Erin!

According to the rules, I have to share 7 things about myself and then pass along the favor. So...

  • I have a lot of ambitions that change frequently and rapidly but right now, I really want to learn how to use a sewing machine. I'd love to be cranking out quilts and other granny-like things to give out as gifts.
  • I only wash my hair once or twice a week - it doesn't get that oily and I find that my shampoo & conditioner make my hair look better when used less often.
  • I randomly write poetry from time to time but I never share it with anyone - not even my mom or Nick.
  • I dream every day of when Nick and I will be able to get a dog. I've always been a dog person and I miss having one in my life, especially since my dog from home passed away this summer. I talk about this a lot and will probably continue to talk about it until we get one. Sorry.
  • I prefer gold jewelry over silver jewelry.
  • I never wear thongs. Ever. They're too uncomfortable for me, even if wearing them would lower my granny-status just a little bit.
  • My favorite animal is the Fox and ironically, I'm babysitting a baby boy named Fox who, ironically, was almost named Griffin (my last name).

So there you have it! And now to pass along the favor. I would like to nominate...

From A to Zoë - Zoe maintains a great balance of sharing fun and light things like recipes and DIY projects to sweet and more personal things like her experience with leaving the Big Apple to set up shop in Boise, ID with her boyfriend. She is relatable and heartfelt.

Did We Do Something To Deserve This? - this blog, written by two girls I went to college with, is deeply personal but oh-so-funny (and self-deprecating). Catherine and Jana probably have no idea I read their blog (or that I even have one of my own) but once I saw a blog post of theirs on Facebook, I knew I had to read more. This is a great blog for those who need reminders that we've all had embarrassing moments, made bad decisions, or just downright did not use to be as cool as we are today.
